SLATE Centre is welcoming several visiting researchers during the 2021-22 academic year. Since February the Centre has been hosting PhD candidate Javier De La Hoz.

He has a Master’s degree in Information and CommunicationScience, and is currently working on his PhD in Educational Sciences at the University in Granada.

This is Javier’s second visit to SLATE Centre. His first research stay has received the Award for Excellence in Internationalization from the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization of the Universidad de Granada 2020-2021. During both visits at SLATE, De La Hoz has been supervised among others by Senior Researcher Mohammad Khalil. This year the two scholars have been working on a scientific paper that shows how learning analytics improve the professional capital of teachers in schools.

“I would like to highlight the great help that Mohammad has been providing me with. He is making me grow both professionally and personally. I am also very grateful for the warm welcome I have been receiving from the rest of SLATE’s team. It has all exceeded my expectations”, says De La Hoz.
