In 2018,“LEARNING AND TEACHING WITH TECHNOLOGY IN HIGHER EDUCATION – a systematicreview” was published. It was written by Sølvi Lillejord, Kristin Børte,Katrine Nesje and Erik Ruud from the Knowledge Centre for Education.

It is how technology is used that is important

The review’s core message is the following:

“A coremessage in this systematic review is that technology implementation in highereducation intuitions must follow a scholarly approach; be aligned with goalsfor teaching and research stated in national and institutional plans andstrategies, what students expect to learn in higher education, tested in avariety of formats, evaluated and renewed in accordance with acknowledged andfamiliar academic work procedures, big data, student feedback, teacher feedbackand new research. This work needs leadership and can only be achieved through acollaborative effort.”

The review concludes with a list of “knowledge gaps” that highlight potentialdirections for future research.
