SEIS Exchange visitor Pankaj Chejara

June 5, 2022

Pankasj Chejara, a PhD fellow at Tallinn University, is visiting SLATE for 3 weeks funded through an exchange under the EU twinning project  SEIS: Scaling up Educational Innovation in Schools (SEIS). SEIS is a partnership between the University of Tallinn, Estonia and Tampere Research Centre for Information & Media (TAU), University of Tampere, Finland and the Centre for the Science of Learning & Technology (UiB), University of Bergen, Norway.

Chejara's research focuses on building a system to support teachers in monitoring collaboration behaviour among students. This research involves first identifying features from various types of data (e.g., audio, video, digital logs) which can be indicative of the quality of collaboration among students, second using this knowledge to build an automated feedback system to support teachers in tracking and monitoring students during the activity using machine learning techniques.

While at SLATE he will be working with Senior Researcher Mohammad Khalil, be involved in SLATE activities, and will present his work.
