At the invitation of the Turkish Ministry of National Education, SLATE’s senior researcher Mohammad Khalil gave a keynote speech at the Distance Education Conference on Lifelong Learning on December 13. The title of Khalil’s presentation was “Learning Analytics as a Method in Technology Enhanced Learning: Data-Driven Decision Making for Better Learning”.

"I was invited to the Turkish Ministry of National Education to talk about distance and lifelong learning with many international colleagues. While I planned to make the keynote in place rather than virtual, the setting of the remote speech was tidy and well organised. I had the pleasure to speak about the role of learning analytics as a method in technology-enhanced learning. I shed light and provided SLATE's experience on how learning analytics may function to improve curriculum and learning design in virtual learning spaces", says Khalil.
