The International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is the leading global membership organization for open, distance, flexible and online education, including e-learning, and draws its membership from institutions, educational authorities, commercial actors and individuals. For its ICDE Leadership Summit, ICDE invites many types of leaders in education, particularly those who have an interest in learning and teaching in the digital age and learning analytics (LA).
This year’s ICDE Leadership Summit is hosted by LORIA at Université de Lorraine, 22-23 May 2017 in Nancy, France. It is organised back to back with a one day Forum “Visionary Leadership for Digital Transformation”, taking place the day after the Summit at the UNESCO Head Quarters in Paris, organised by ICDE, UNESCO and the project D-Transform. The two combined events offer a rare opportunity to explore in depth the strategic main issues for higher education leaders who are setting the course for quality teaching and learning in a time of digitalisation. ICDE Leadership Summit programme Paris Forum programme
SLATE Director Barbara Wasson was the opening key note speakers at the Summit. She was also involved in a workshop entitled the “Impact of LA on leadership”. In addition, she will be one of the guest speakers in the Panel 2 discussions at the one day Paris Forum. SLATE research theme leader, Ingunn Johanne Ness also attended the meetings.
