This week, Dr. Barbara Wasson speaks at the Digi-Lingo final conference, and Dr. Mohammad Khalil speaks at the National Conference for Digitization in Higher Education.
Our colleague, SLATE Senior Researcher Mohammad Khalil, will hold a presentation on the topic Trustworthy AI and Education at The National Conference for Digitization in Higher Education on Thursday November 7th 2024.
The conference will be held in the University Aula at the University of Bergen.
Parts of the conference will be streamed.
The conference is organized annually by the University of Bergen in collaboration with the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills and Sikt, the Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research. The focus of this year’s conference are questions like “What does the digitization of and in Norway look like, in a historical perspective? How does it affect how we think about and run education today? And not least: How can this inform the choices we will make going forward?”

SLATE Director Professor Barbara Wasson will be one of the Speakers during the Digi-Lingo final conference about foreign language teaching in the classroom on Friday November 8th 2024.
The topic of Wasson’s talk is Data, Learning Analytics and AI for Language Learning, described by the conference like this: “Data is the oxygen for learning analytics and artificial intelligence. Using examples from education, including language learning, Barbara Wasson will introduce these concepts.”
The Digi-Lingo final conference will take place at The Herman Teirlinck Building, Havenlaan 88, 1000 Bruxelles.
The conference is for both physical and online participants and will showcase the results of the transnational Digi-Lingo project along with expert presentations. The aim of the project is to work towards broadening digital awareness in the language-learning progress, hoping to enhance the European youth's foreign language skills.
The five partners of the project are Central Denmark Region, Vestland Fylkeskommune, Kristau Eskola, Het Gemeenschapsonderwijs (GO!) and European Schoolnet.
